A range-limiting device is an important safety system designed to help equipment operators work confidently around potential hazards. This monitoring technology provides precise feedback on the machine’s position relative to surrounding obstacles, such as powerlines, walls, or overhead structures and uses visual and audible alerts when a predefined limit is approached. If the machine reaches that limit, the system automatically stops movement, reducing the risk of accidental contact and significantly lowering the chance of operator error, which is a leading cause of serious incidents.
